Credit Rating Repair Tips For Better Finances

This might surprise you, but a lot of people really have no idea what not to do when it comes to their credit score. They might think that their credit is great, when in reality, it is terrible! Then, when they get denied a loan or they get their credit card shut off, they wonder what went wrong. Well, here are some things that you should NOT do when it comes to your credit score. These are some mistakes that will leave your credit in weak shambles, and you might be surprised at what some of them are.

First, not paying your bills on time is definitely not a way to improve your credit score! When you are late on bills or have collections agencies coming after you, it goes on your credit report in a very negative way. Make sure to pay your bills on time if you want to improve your credit rating!

Second, you need to understand that paying late bills or collections does not remove the item from your credit report! Only time will remove them.

Third, if you fall behind on payments, do not give up and stop paying! That is  not the way to improve your credit rating. You can only improve your credit rating by paying on time for a long period of time. There are no quick fixes to your credit score… you just need to hunker down and do it.

If you want to improve your credit score, do not move your debt around to different credit cards. That does not look as good on your credit report as actually paying them off. In fact, consolidating a large amount of money and moving it around a lot can actually lower  your credit score in some cases! So, pay up, don’t move around!

When you shop for a new line of credit, do all of the shopping within the same time frame. Your credit score will be able to tell the difference between a credit search and a continuous browsing for new credit options! Searching randomly all the time will lower your score, but searching within a reasonable time frame is ok! And last but not least, make your monthly payments! This is very important. The longer you go making your payments on time, the better off your credit rating is going to be. Follow some of the credit rating repair tips above to help you to get a better score faster.
